In 1995, the California State Police merged with the California Highway Patrol after 108 years of service to the people of the State of California.
 
This badge commemorates the merger of the California State Police with the California Highway Patrol and is laser engraved on the back denoting its status.  It replicates the badge given to (then) Governor Pete Wilson in 1995 commemorating the event.
